Allan is from Cape Dorset located on Baffin Island in Canada’s Arctic Nunavut Territory. Baffin Island is a mighty landscape of mountain ranges, icecaps, glacial valleys and open tundra. Carpe Dorset is world famous as a centre of Inuit Art. Allan mainly works with animal themes, which he treats with a characteristic whimsy. Serpentine Stone comes in a staggering variety of colours, the variation of colour are results from varied mineral infusions in the stone. The name has been derived from the colour and appearances of the stone which resembles the skin of a serpent. The best quality serpentine has fine textures with no cleavages.
